La ville héberge également des hautes écoles prestigieuses comme l'École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), l'École cantonale d'art de Lausanne (ECAL) et l'International Institute for Management Development (IMD). Lausanne se distingue par le grand nombre d'institutions internationales liées au sport qu'elle accueille.
